It's much better now and you can fiddle around with it with config files....

Having mine set so i get clip launch and stops for 8 channels and then another channel with a drum rack mapped....

^ this is what I'm hoping for too, I'm not sure if it's possible at the moment from my limited time spent playing with it. Its definitely worth checking out though.
If the functionality this offers could be used across all 16 MIDI channels, it would be the definitive answer to making the lights on the pK work as they should have done from the start. The 'groups' and 'retrigger groups' modes make it an awesome addition to the pK imo.

Currently each pad, or switch or encoder.... can transmit on just one channel, these can be different channels to each other but only one channel per pad....

However Flycycle has been working and testing a version that you can save 16 scenes into (via a config file) so hitting one pad or switch (you choose it) and a pad will switch it the channel you want....

I've got it all up ancd running on just one channel and bar it going off line if you leave it on for days on end i;'ve had no problems and it's made my abletonning come alive...

If I can change channels on it, I'll be able to use farmpad the same way I'm using pK[squared].

I'd love an update if this gets worked out.

The idea for me is 16 scenes each on it's own channel, and the ability to switch scenes easily.

I think farmpad makes padKONTROL a very good controller for launching clips and scenes in Live. I learned that you should set the clips' launch mode to gate to make them stop and start according to the pads.

One thing that I really miss (and hope that i just don't know how to do) is a way to make Live send MIDI to the padKONTROL. If this is possible the ligths would update so that they always where correct according to the clips they where assigned to. Then everything would be perfect :D

Is this possible? I know that Live sends back the same MIDI message which is assigned to a parameter (e.g. clips, scenes, effects on/off etc.). It sends these messages back to MIDI outputs where 'remote' is activated. But even if I activate remote for all inputs of the padKONTROL nothing happens :-(

Any ideas?

who makes farmpad?

this thing is great

i'v made a step sequencer, I had it totally working with pk[squared] but i can build it better with farmpad.

now the question?

I really want 32 scenes 2X each midi channel, this will allow me to use two separate bars , which can be edited separately then linked or played individually or what ever

64 scenes could be 4 bars!.. you would know which group you were on with the side buttons :)

Farmpad is made by Flycycle (Ian)...
Check out the posts at the Korg forums and you'll see he's open to make any improvements you can think of....

Here is my farm pad Step Sequencer

It's very basic and made to be expanded. I used all defaults for the instruments, so the sounds should load up for everybody.

In all honesty I only spent about 2 minutes putting the sounds together for this set, there are 8 simplers on track 2. I wanted it to be easy to share.

There is one impulse on track one

scenes 1-8 on farmpad control impulse, and 9-16 control the simplers

load the set, launch the two clips, it will be silent.. plug away at the pads to activate notes.. expand the set and enjoy

launch farmpad with this command:

farmpad -s 1
