TrentReznor - more :*( [niggy tardust sales V radiohead etc]
Trent Reznor is a ballless sanitised nonce who wants to be a multi-millionaire but with all the street credibility of a homeless hepatitis C infected anarchist,,, we all know that... moaning about the music industry like he's small-fry and how it stifles his creativity etc whilst simultaniously jerking off into piles of unmarked $100 bills. Well, here's some more of it:

Re: TrentReznor - more :*( [niggy tardust sales V radiohead
To compare the sale of a NIN collaboration (I've not heard it) with that of a Radiohead album can only lead to a comparison of the fanbase, types of personality have to factor into the differnce in sales figures. Are Radiohead fans likely to be more conciencious than NIN fans? Are they likely to care enough about the recording quality of Reznor's angst ridden sreeching over Thom Yorke's depressed wailling to pay more for a quality recording? Did people get the low quality download first, decide that it was actually a bit shit and then spend some money on a pizza instead? It'd be a more interesting and relevant experiment to do the same thing with a new, fresh (popular) artist rather than somebody so obviously past his sell-by date. I was a fan of NIN for years but it's been well over in that camp for a long time now as far as I'm concerned, this doesn't surprise me at all, Reznor should probably take heed and just stop.b0unce wrote:

The worst is that Reznor wants to take money directly from every internet users pocket by taxing ISP's:
"I think if there was an ISP tax of some sort, we can say to the consumer, 'All music is now available and able to be downloaded and put in your car and put in your iPod and put up your a-- if you want and it's $5 on your cable bill.'"
Remember all tax = force - you pay the tax or the government will throw your ass in jail. Resist jail and eventually you'll end up dead.
Reznor is all ready to use the force of government to get his way.

@dinsync: Yeah, the idea of a tax to FORCE people to pay for music strikes me as really wierd and like it should be the antithesis of what Reznor stands for. I mean, who's going to distribute that tax to the artists? F*ing right, the gov't and the record companies after a fat cut- and who decides what cut an artist gets? Who decides who's even an artist? Seems like a dumb idea.

How about reading what Mr. Reznor has to say about all of this directly from his own website?
