Trigger Finger goes to "sleep"??????

Post by thehumanmetronome » Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:03 am

I'm running Live 7 on a MacBook with a Trigger Finger thru USB. Anytime I'm using Live, (doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing), after about 3-5 minutes of not using my Trigger Finger it stops working. I have to unplug the USB and plug it back in, and then it works. It's almost like it's going to "sleep". Is this a bug, or is something just set wrong on my computer. Please help!!

Hi Guyz,

use a powered usb hub, the power from macs are not working proper......
Had the problem too, now totally safe and happy!

Enjoy,

isn't there some kind of setting on your mac that prohibits the 'sleeping' of USB hubs?
I know there is on XP.

Well the power isn't going off to the Trigger Finger. The display stays on and everything. It's just like it loses communication.........

Yes brother,

had exactly the same problem, but read on this a bit, and found something about a slight lower voltage coming through the usb, enough for the light, but not to keep it connected........try it, powered usb hub costs near to nothing, and you'll enjoy a few more ports anyway!!!
And the reliability again.......felt so good after the horrible 'sleeping' TF.
Enjoy!

Sleppy Trigger Finger

Post by pip » Wed Jan 30, 2008 1:02 am

I was getting this problem on my laptop, I solved it by buying a combo cardbus card with usb2 and firewire, the trigger finger works fine when plugged through the card. On my desktop, it does NOT work on my usb2 pci card, but DOES work when using any of the usb ports on my motherboard. Go figure.

I also noticed that on the problematic ports, even before the trigger finger would inevitably disconnect, that it would not be able to send/receive presets from the Enigma software.

It's an ugly hack, but I've managed to live with it.

Has anyone tried using a 9v DC adapter directly in the trigger finger instead of using a powered hub?
