But seriously, why does combining the two strike you as odd?
Challenging then :)
I mean tempo matching between new and old.
I said it would be funny not odd!

Stop asking stupid questions that makes me lock
I JUST SAID IT OK. Because i'd like to see it live!
Well, it was kind of a bitch until they finally added the global nudge feature in 7. But I used to play vinyl with full-on rock and funk bands, so I am pretty used to riding the platter.

i understand that traveling the world with a cd folder or a lapot it's easier, and i understand the looping crazy things you can do with digital, but i like to play vinyl, and use my looper to do my set.

most of all i like to go out, find a shop and search for a 12" that i like to play, i get much closer to the music and i "learn" and remeber much more this way than when i used to shop at beatport.

he worst thing is that a lot of people are going to play with cds or mp3s that they downloaded for free! and they make money on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
digital is great, but i also think that a dj, disc jokey... should play discs!!!! well cds are round too....

sorry, but is this a joke with dj inferno? i'm so fuckin' sick of live-loopin'-doopin'-super-dj's who play non-groovin'-shit-tunes out in the clubs. who wanna hear this shit? go back to the studio and please play out proper tunes in the club with vinyl or a proper ableton-dj-set.

it's not about beat-matchin', it's about to play good music & rock the dance-floor. and this dj-inferno-phil-collins-rmx is a fuckin' joke. of course, he's very talented, but i don't wanna hear this stuff in a club.

next......
regards,
thom

ive been djing with live for about two years. i just got my first turntable at christmas. i will be getting cdjs in the next few months.

i figure you should be able to use all of them and mix in and out of each.

but thats just what i figure.

and i do like the inferno style live loopin stuff, its just different than getting-down-clubbin.

sort of like the diff between dancing to hip hop tunes and watching a real dope turntablist.

each has its place.
