Cubase vs Logic vs Sonar as rewire/vsti host

Post by metrognome32 » Wed Oct 16, 2002 5:18 pm

Hi,

I own Cubase 5.6 and am using it as my VSTi/Rewire host for live/Reaktor jam setups with the MOTU828 card on a winblows laptop. I notice that I can't change tempo as fluidly as when live is standalone. Sonar XL 2.0 is even worse in that reguard with obvious pops and clicks.

Can anyone comment on their experiences with Logic/sonar/cubase sx strickly as a VSTi/Rewire host. They all are great mastering programs but aren't really optimized for live play...e.g. in Cubase 5.6 if I load a new reaktor ens while jamming in live I have to press stop start to get it to sync which throws off the improv flow.

Any comments from users that have found a stable/comfortable live rewire/vsti solution for PC jams?

Kind Reguards...
