but surely its an insult for djs who get $50 for DJing and peter hook is getting probably thousands because of who he is not because of any skill or ability to dj

i complete respect him as a musician

as a dj..no

but i would still pay to see him dance like that

now that depends on how the dj performs...

if hes simply beat matching crossfading...then fair enough

but if hes mashing up, re-mixing in his own live way, then he is performing

I can't wait until a DJ gets on stage all Andy Kaufman style and as a "fuck all you" puts his laptop on a TV tray, hits the space bar, and spends the duration of his set leaning back in a leather recliner smoking a cigar and reading the paper.
