some people just thrive on hostility - it's why we have the troll blocker

once you start using it it's surprisingly effective because you occasionally unblock people to see if they are starting to offer anything worthwhile and they pretty much always arent

sometimes I look at the blank X and wonder what the fuck I'm doing and why do I care enough to block anyone, but it's actually kind of like when you have a really irritating dog next door that doesnt stop barking at every fucking thing that moves - if you had a mute button for it you'd use it

what was the point of starting that thread in the forum if not to put ableton on the spot ? He knew exactly what he was doing, and it wasn't a kind favour/helpful advise imo. Believe me, I know all about starting threads to put ableton on the spot when I'm not satisfied with something and I can smell my own. And that thread REAKED of him feeling personally slighted and it REAKED of putting ableton PR on the spot, during NAMM week. But I digress, most people saw right through it.

I've sen it waayyy more hostile in here. A few times. Don't you guys remember that time evryone was posting a thread about how much they hated someone else, or a poll about so and so being a wanker etc etc.? It always seems to happen just before the next update to Live is announced. Then upon release, everyone's friends again.

No, we're about 10 or 12 months away from the most hostile it will be in here this year. Soak up the good cheer friends.

That said, this thread is causing quite the stir, ironically.

So much cold hard honesty flying around, I can't even handle it!

Riddle me this, if reading is such a passive action, how come the smallest disagreement with you turns into hair splitting retorts to every sentence? If it's so passive why do you get so strung out at supposed attacks on your friends character? I don't, and will not troll block anybody, I don't need protection from my own reaction to other people. I find the concept amusing, it's an online forum version of self inflicted parental controls.

In the end of the day if you piss me off, I have to at some point look at my own self for why I react so heavily to what you say. I have to take into account my role in the situation, and acknowledge that I'm to a degree complicent in that feeling.

Whether you admit it or not, a lot of both negative and positive things have been flung around about Neb lately, fact! Neb is in part reacting to that, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It's also no great mystery that he stirs it up himself a bit, humor, dogging on the poor treatment he received at NAMM at first etc. then getting treated well, people talking about him in opinionated ways pro/con etc. All of these things add up to his feeling that the forum is going mad.

I would recommend you lay off the gay jokes a bit, I think it's affecting your ability to act rationally about Neb. Besides it's in poor fucking taste. Maybe I'm touchy that way because I've known at least three gays that were good friends that died of AIDS, I dunno? It reeks of homophobia, but hey, you know what they say about homophobia. You're in the right city if you do end up swinging that way. And guess what? I wasn't joking about that, and it wasn't an attack. I approve of gay people, they rule IMO.
