Help! VST changes back to preset and will not open!

So I was writing a track...and I saved all my info. When I opened the project file again the friggin VST went back to default setting. I can't even open the VST to change it back. It just blinks when I click the show VST button. It will not open up at all. When I try to open as new in channel nothing happens. WTF? Can someone please save the day....Im friggin cursed off my computer, the VST, and at my screen. Help!
