your post explains how to map the knobs on electribes to cc's in live, thats not what i was asking..Trypset wrote:what more of a template do you want? this post explains everything, tells you exactly how to map everything. I mean no one can do it for you, and no one gave me an easy template. Trial and error and this forum are all you need.

thats about 10 seconds work, im sure im still misunderstanding.spiral wrote:for instance 16 clips in live, and if one of the 16 pads is on , on the korg that clip would be triggered in appropriate sequenceadventurepants_ wrote:
how do you mean? any electribe plugged into LIve is a midi step sequencer, or have i missed your point?
midi map mode, highlight the clip, press the step button on the electribe, repeat 16 times, job done?
i use my EA and ER-1 MKi mainly as a 'step sequencer' i usually create patterns / sequences with them and then record the midi info with a plug-in synth sound into ableton. works brilliant and i like to use buttons and knobs instead of a mouse to draw notes into a matrix sequencer.adventurepants_ wrote:how do you mean? any electribe plugged into LIve is a midi step sequencer, or have i missed your point?spiral wrote:i have the EA and the ER, i use them on their own but record them into live, i use live as master clock and sync them from live , which is good for recording filtered loops
Using Live pretty much like mixing desk with them.
I also try using midi from live to play sequences which works fine but havent figured out how to control all settings from live
if any one has made step sequencer type template for live with these it be good to see

GAFM ***So far all I've used my ER-1 mkII for is sequencing AudioRealism's DrumMachine. Using the ER-1 for sequencing and a Bitstream Pro for the knobs, I've more or less got a 909, 808, 606, etc. Not exactly the same I know, but since I don't want to buy another 909 again for the little I'd use it it works.
I'm going to check out this technique though. Always good to find more uses for hardware.

Using midi pipe and the values from here:

I've mapped on os x the ea1 to bassline, so guess drummachine would be same

For those of you using Electribes as a sequencer for Ableton Live, is anyone able to use the Part Mute or the Solo buttons on the Electribes to control Mute and Solo in Live in the same way you can within Electribes?
So, for example, hold Part Mute button and press any Part button to mute each part, and hold Solo and press any Part to Solo and then press Solo again to unsolo/unmute all parts. The Mute/Solo aspect of hardware sequencers like Electribes are what makes them essential for live performance. Can this be done when controlling Live?
