I'm having loads of issues with these audio drop outs and glitches... I tried turning multiprocessors off but the session I was working on wouldn't even play back like that. Wish they could sort this out... I love Live but this makes it hard to use. Never was like this in version 5... even before multiprocessor was available.

Cheers!

Hi folks,

Some more information would be helpful. There are so many reason why you could run in audio drop outs. So if you have a scenario where that happens, please provide us with all the information about your Live set and your hardware.

If you refer to Live 7, you could also get your hands on the current beta of the upcoming Live 7.0.2 bug fix update:

I have just spent few hours recording drums, vocal and guitar on my XP 7.0.2b6 desktop. There is not much going on in the set - 6 audio tracks and 1 Adictive Drums vst. I am unable to play the set back without getting at least one (but normally 3 or 4) crackle/s.

I have a good machine (3.4Ghz core2duo, 3 good defragmented disks, 2GB 833Mhz RAM, Audiophile 192 audio card)

Multiprocessor support is on but this makes no difference for me anyway.

Buffer size is 256 and sample rate 48,000. I believe both the hardware and software configuration should support this requirement (to be able to play back this set without a crackle).

I am concerned that 7.0.2 is about to be released without a fix for this

penningt,

please do the following:

1) Start Live 7.0.2b6
2) Load that particular Live set with the 6 audio tracks and the A. Drums VST
3) Play it until you get the first audio drop out
4) Then, stop playing and call the "Do Bug Reporting snapshot" from the Help menu.

That will create a Bug Reporting package alp file on your desktop. Please send that file to [email protected]. In that mail, please also include your forum nickname and the name or link of this thread.

Regards,
/Alex

I have discovered that many of the audio clip files themselves (from the set I mention above) contain glitches. This is verfied when I open them in an external edior and can still hear them.

I have been switching between 7.0.1 and 7.0.2.b6 quite a lot today and it is possible that the glitches were recorded into the audio whilst I was using 7.0.1

I have just recorded a load of guitar in 7.0.2.b6 and it has come out ok but I will continue to monitor closely to see what more I can find.
