Problem changing Midi channels with two Midi devices

Post by TempoMan » Sat Feb 02, 2008 9:14 pm

Hi there,

First of all, sorry for my bad english... I hope you understand my question. I've searched all the forum and haven't found any answer for my problem.

I have two midi hardware devices: A Synth, and a Drum pad. I know how to play both at the same time, that is selecting channels with the command key pressed (mac)... but what I want to do is to always have selected the drumpad, and with mapping keys change the plugin I want to play with the synth without deactivating the drumpad.

An example:

I have a midi channel with drum rack and there is my hardware drum pad to trigger the samples. And I have two other midi channels, one with a Piano plugin, and other with a strings plugin, that are controlled by the Hardware Midi Synth.

After, I mapped the key "p" to select and play live the midi channel with the piano, and the key "s" to select and play live the strings.

So, the problem is that when I press "s" or "p" to change the plugin I want to play with the Synth, the drumpad automatically is desactivated for playing... the only way I know to do this is keeping pressed the command key and with the mouse setect the midi channels you want to play live... is there an easy way to do this?? Without the needing of use the mouse??

Thanks for your help.
