Missing VSTs

Post by StinkyPat » Fri Feb 01, 2008 11:51 am

Live 7.0.1 will only see about 1/2 of the vsts I have installed on my laptop. I have rescanned multiple times and still no luck... Anyone have any ideas what the heck I did or can do? :?

Hello StinkyPat,

Which OS/machine do you use? If you use an Intelmac, your VST plug-ins must be in
Universal Binary format. You might try to delete the "Preferences.cfg" (Live must be closed). Restart Live then. You´ll find this file here:
•Windows (Live 4 and later versions): C:/Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preference
•Windows Vista:c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/ableton/live/preferences/
•Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton

Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1. Launch Explorer.
2. Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3. Check "Show hidden files and folders."

Best,
Christian Kleine
