HELP!!! Crackles and pops

When my cpu load goes over 50 per cent I have crackles and pops! Why??? I have a sony VAIO with 2 gb ram, 1,66 Ghz dual core cpu (intel 2 duo) and a creative audigy 2 soundcard.

are you using asio for all ?

Get Asio4all. It's FREE and it works wonderfully!!! ...Or, at least, it did for me. Try it and good luck!

The 2 million dollar question! You're not alone man... I'm on mac... same story. MBP 2.16ghz Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM, OS 10.4.11, Built Out or Fireface 800 drivers same results. I've just downloaded the 7.0.2b6 and gonna try Alex's suggestion in this post here --> http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 439#631439 We'll see if anything turns up.
