Live is overwriting all my automation on multi takes

Post by Geezus » Mon Feb 04, 2008 2:43 am

Scenario:
I arm a track and record some midi fuckery on a parameter (lets say, filter cutoff) on an effect in the channel.

Stop. Midi automation has been recorded. Cool

Now I want to record some stuff on another parameter in the same channel, say resonance.
Arm track. Start recording

Without even doing anything, Live is replacing my filter cutoff stuff with a strait line. I try it with and without midi overdub toggled and it always does it.

So basically, I can't record automation on multiple parameters in the same channel from different takes without live overwriting all my automation from the previous take.

I am using a novation remote sl zero. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Nope. Disabled all midi inputs, still doing it.

This is an even more embarrassing bug than the 128 parameter limitation guys. I hate to say this, but I regret buying this software now

I'd suggest reading the manual, look up the "overdub button" you'll find it at the top of the window next to the "back to arrangement button".

Nevermind I got it sorted out. Turns out I DONT need to arm a track to record MIDI automation data. Weird
