why can't I send a dump to my Axiom 25?

Post by burntjamb » Mon Feb 04, 2008 11:38 pm

Enigma won't launch, so I've been trying to use this tutorial (http://newecho.typepad.com/blog/2007/05 ... _the_.html) to set up my Axiom, but when I select "Axiom 25 Classic" as my 1st control surface, the "Dump" button is greyed out. I can't select the second control surface slot as "Axiom 25 Classic" like the tutorial instructs, otherwise I get a runtime error and Ableton crashes (whether the Axiom is connected or not). I just need to send a dump to the Axiom to get Ableton's Axiom programs working according to the tutorial. PLEASE help!

I'm running:

Windows XP SP2
2.2 GHZ Athlon X2 Dual-Core
2 GB RAM

Axiom 25, latest drivers 4.3.00

Get sure that you have chosen the correct "Output" in "Midi/Sync". Otherwise the dump button is greyed out... The same if you choose "Axiom" instead of "Axiom 25 Classic" as "Control Surface" in "Midi/Sync".

Everything works as described in the tutorial with my Axiom 25 after I figured these things out.

Well what is your ableton version? In 6 it worked, but in 7 it doesn't work.

DUMP does work alright!!

Check out my topic I started 10 sec ago.

Please do not use DUMP if you don't know what it does to the functions of your keyboard.

Damn "Dump" Does not work

Post by fareshassouna » Wed May 07, 2008 4:46 pm

I am using the Axiom 49 Keyboard.

-I downloaded the latest drivers MA_CMIDI_WDM_4.2.03v4
-I amusing Live 7.0.1 on windows XP

I can see my keyboard in the midi sync Tab, I select it as in and out, but the Dump Button is "GREYED OFF", so i can't configure my K/b to control live correctly, for example

-I selecet Preset 18/19/20 ( but the transport Stop/Play buttons don't work on either)

-I tried sending midi on channels 1 to 16, but still no response from transport.

On the bright side, I can tap notes on an instrumnets like operator and the Pads do trigget Impulse, but newither my knobs/sliders control any of the other Parameters on any of the instrumnets or effects.

Can you please help on this one as it is really bugging me.

I did download the Live axiom Tutorial, but it seems that the dupm action is required to get things to work. Please help me guys.

Many thanks

Fares
