Someone knows any video links has any hidden on his pc? pleaaaaaase share them.

Clip device drop area. You know where you can drop your (Audio clip)kickdrum. 1 kickdrum how to get to the trackdisplay?? do I record 1 kickdrum and then copy it within each bar?? i really don't have a clue and as all of you started out like this...I'm a fresh newbiew in this

I really would appriciate some help.......

Not everything in life is free or straight to video. There are video tutorials out there but you will have to (gasp) pay for them, or there is always the RTFM option.

lots of movies here
http://www.ableton.com/pages/movies/movies

just start playing around, always keep the help box open in the lower left corner of the screen.

I find using the .pdf of the manual I can search for topics I need help on.

Those video's on the Ableton website should get u started.
At least watch: Creating Beats, Creating Patterns, Drum Racks, Playing with software instruments, Improvising with loops, Making music with Live, midi instruments and effects.

If you saw those, come back and tell me again you don't know how to start

just drag and drop straight to trackdisplay , whatever that is but should work.

if working in session view, you can record to arrangement view <"trackdisplay maybe"?... or drag the audio / midi clips to the arrangement tab (top right area of screen - under or above session view tab... looks like = or II.

i give up for now... just get stuck in!

Best advice in town. I am a 'fresh noob' as well. I don't mean that I switched from another DAW, I mean new to concepts, lingo, systems etc. I have experienced BLIND RAGING FURY through this process of getting going. 'Read The Fcuken Manual' will get thrown at you alot. Truth is that half the answers in getting going ARE NOT IN THE FCUKEN MANUAL AT ALL. They actually have to do with drivers, hardware conflicts, stupid hardware choices, etc and a general unfamiliar looking screen shot. I have a hunch that some of the experienced users have forgotten that Live (the software) is only half of the issue. The absolutely funny thing is that the little piece of FREE Live Lite software actually cost me $1000 to date with all the shit you find out you don't have or need to upgrade to. 8O :D

1. Just start.
2. Spend as much time on the forum as you can reading the issues people have. They are full of all sorts of gems.
3. Search the forum with B-logic (AND between words) There actually is tonnes of good stuff in there.
4. From my experience in CAD programes, there is more than one way to do a task. Same applies with Live. Experiment!
5. If you truley are as fresh as you say, and if you are using a demo, dump it and buy 6LE. At least you can save your work for review. Upgrade later when you are more savy.
6. Resign yourself to the fact that its going to take a while. Get in there for the long haul. The BEST learning is always SELF learning.
7. Don't be afraid to ask questions on the forum. Be aware that there are intelligent questions and just plain stupid questions. Intelligent questions usually get intelligent answers. Think before you ask.
8. Use the built in lessons. Follow the steps. Start from step one!
9. Make sure you finish something. Don't bounce from one thing to another.
10. CHOOSE to have fun.

All the best.

Pay for the Ableton live but pay also for the lession :D good concept i like it.

Thanks guys for the replys.

When you begin a project you always drop a Kickdrum that's an unwritten basic rule. Easy to sync your recorded Bassline drums etc etc etc...

What The Mann Just explained her above is as simpel how to drop a Kickdrum into your Tracks overview. Nowhere to be found not even on the manual or the insde Lessions on Ableton.

Draging it right into your track overview means no clip and no clip means no fx right?

Simpel basic questions and nowhere to be answered. i mean not even in the Manual.

I still like the rule buy Ableton Live and if you want to know how it works poay for the lessions i love you for that :D

Thanks guys for al your help I will play around with it....Sooner or later i will figger out what I want to know right?

GJM-> cheers mate for the tips :) i have switched of from FL Studio and Pro Tools into Ableton sinds last night wantedto try something else for a change.

Cheers,
Oliver
