AKAI MPC 2000XL HELP

I've seen many threads in the forum regarding syncing an MPC to Ableton...
But... I would like to use the MPC as a midi controller to trigger different scenes and clips. I can't figure out how to set it up...

Any help would be great. I have an MPC 2000XL, a Korg MicroKONTROL, and a M-Audio Firewire 410...

- connect a midi cable from the xl midi out A to the fw410 midi in.

- either set up a new program that sends out the specific midi notes you want for each pad + pad bank or just use the default program's notes

- in the lower left hand corner of the xl screen next to 'drum1', turn 'off' to 1A

- now hit 'open window' and change 'as track' to 'omni A'

Now the mpc is transmitting the midi notes from each pad you hit to the 410, and you can assign each note to whatever function in Live you want.
