Question about Copyright infringment

Question about Copyright infringment

My friend has an older version of Live and I just bought 7. He lives in Chicago and I live in PA and he wants to send me files he has been working on but I dont know if his version is authorized or not. If i open I file that he created on an unauthorized version of Live in my new version of live 7 will that kill my program?

I dont want to waste that much money over something stupid like this.

wont be a problem.

remember though that when you send your live7 set back to him that he wont be able to play it on his earlier version
