Right there with you. Its hard because I have become completely reliant upon Live for making music, but its a definite love/hate relationship at the moment. If this ain't fixed in a few months I'll have to think about buying another DAW for music making, and just use Live for playing out. Which depresses the hell out of me to think aboutdancerchris wrote:I'm very irritatted with Live 7! Live 6 works peachy.

no i'm getting these as well 10% to 67% ? thats release 7.02 with no internet, network, or any other possible intefering factors.Tone Deft wrote:idea - that could be some other process on your machine popping up, taking resources from Live. turn off your internet connection.C.S. wrote:random cpu spikes
Have you tried setting your remote sl up the way i did as stated in my previous post?GUY SMILEY wrote:no i'm getting these as well 10% to 67% ? thats release 7.02 with no internet, network, or any other possible intefering factors.Tone Deft wrote:idea - that could be some other process on your machine popping up, taking resources from Live. turn off your internet connection.C.S. wrote:random cpu spikes
See if that does it, i was getting67 & 73% glitches before changing my settings. If you just use abletons automapping, you dont need the novation server.

Hy Gavscope,
Yes I've got my Remote SL setup the same - except I don't have any of the 'outputs' enabled (as I use my MOtu traveller for midi - and therefore have this setup as the output - I found the timing to be steadier).
After posting my complaints I noticed that there was a 48khz audio file in amongst all of the 44Khz files, in my 44khz set / setup. Removing this (obviously) helped considerably - i hadn't noticed it before.. but I am still getting enough odd cpu spikes and crackling to make it very difficult (after having removed offending 48khz file)

hmmmmmm......
sounds tedious
i have changed settings from 44 to 48khz, doesn't usually make a difference. windows and your soundcard driver should interpret them smoothly, maybe something with live though. i am ambivalent about what to stay with myself- i'm quite happy with the 44khz cd quaity- is the standard going to be higher later????? probably, but lofi may be cool....anyway.....
it's just the increased cpu that's bugging me now. could be the '64 bit audio summing engine' which does sound unmistakably better!
Could be the particularly offending plugin. maybe coz' i have two chained in the same rack
one day things will just work..... maybe....please....
goodnight

for a brief period I made the uninformed decision to record at 48Khz. Further reading then convinced me that this was a bit daft, so i also now record solely at 44 khz now. However there are a couple of 'legacy' recordings I still use....
The only third party plugins I was using on this particular project was Drumazon, and my liquid mix, although i have had similar problems on other sessions without the Drumazon.. It could be the Liquid Mix, as I use this on every single track i do..
But yeah it is tedious. I wish I'd bought a mac ! although even they don't seem to be without some problems on 7.02 ?

Acting very weird when sending midi data to the evolver...
used to get crazy spikes sending more than 4 CCs+notes out... through the Multiface.
switching to mme stopped that.
Live 7.0.2 is alot better for me...(usable..)
So big props on this upgrade...
but stilll there are issues...
I think I'll be in on the next beta testing..

7.0.2 Live itself is working fine for me. But 7.0.1 did too.
When it comes to the new synths I still have the same problems with CPU spikes though.
Live is hovering at about 14% cpu and everythings fine. If I add a single Analog and a basic 3 note string progression it spikes up and crackle hell.

Didn't get back into the new instruments this week end so I don't know how things going on this side.
I had only one crash this weekend at 81% cpu usage, for the rest it's pretty good, way better than 7.01. No spikes or drop outs after 3 days of intensive usage.
I'm pretty happy until now, did not find the courage to load tension again, maybe i'll try it later tonight.
