it's a really cool portable sturdy controler. i was recently on the road with it for a few weeks for business, then vacation, and played every night with it!

the crossfader feels good, the knobs respond well..

of course I had to do manual mappings to my taste, which you unfortunately can't save (to apply to another set for instance) but it takes like 10 minutes.

there are a few points to improve for the next version:
- the rotaries are very stiff. not usable for (my) hip hop purposes
- if you want to use the nice little stand that comes with it, you'll have a surprise: the USB cable doesn't fit in the socket anymore (too bad, it's a great stand for warm computers, like the MBP)
- the knobs are a bit too close from another (and I don't have fat fingers..)
- it misses some launch buttons, sends,...

hopefully Vestax will integrate all this in the VCM-600

can't wait! :P

So the VCM-100 is finally out?? I thought Vestax was going to scrap this in favor of concentrating on the VCM-600...?

This is great news!

So your SL' s are now stands?? I would like for you to give them to me so they can be used to manipulate vinyl! The way they should be used. Ill add them to mine to scratch with my feet for all I care :)

I would love to know how you CUE your tracks using the VCM-100's headphone out in Ableton Live.

Like you, I've mapped a set with all the effects etc. I use, custom EQ that's better for DJing and so on.

My only concern now is that I don't know how to route my 2 CUE buttons on the VCM... I can't select the "headphone" output of the VCM, in Ableton Live.

Any ideas?

thx

Ahh.. Realistic mixers!!! I bought my first one when I was 15!!! I had a tape deck, a hi-fi turntable and a boom box hooked up to it.

Young 'uns today don't know how easy they've got it!

I started djing in the early 90's...
So I don't see the connection here...
if you don't care about modern djing why don't you stop using ableton live?

Yes, that's what I meant, you go back to your SL1200's
and you don't waste your time using a computer and software.

I just got this for my friend. Anyone know a good way of mapping the controls on this?
