stuck/ frozen notes when playing midi live in os x
hiya guys
I'm getting a serious problem with stuck / frozen midi notes which are obviously not receiving a proper NOTE OFF message.
It's a big problem.
I get it sometimes when playing through Reason, but also when I use the logic AU's EVP73 and EXSP24.
I am using a midi controller keyboard, and althought not a fast mac (667 powerbook) i wouldnt expect these problems. there is no glitching of audio, nor is the CPU usage unusally high.
anybody getting similar problems?

Hardware: Power Mac G4 533Mhz, 384Mb RAM
OS: OS 10.3.4
eVolution MK-249C2 USB MIDI Keyboard
Reproducible: Yes
1. Turn on Evolution Keyboard, set Keyboard to Channel 1
2. Open Live 4.0b11
3. Drag and drop DLSMusicDevice to right of track 8
4. Select Keyboard on Midi from
5. Select Channel 1
6. play C major Chord on the right hand with a constant quaver pattern staccato a la Schubert Crochets = 90
I've set Live and the Keyboard to the same channel to reduce other effects. Also there does not need to be any load from other tracks to cause an issue.
In this situation I hear many notes drop out and also get the occasional hang as well. This shows up in Live's Midi recording of the take. When I try out this in RAX or Logic I do not detect any aberrations and the recording seems regular. I've used Midipipe to monitor the signal before it arrives at Live and I find that all notes are present in each iteration of the chord. I get the same issue in Buzzer with Live and no problems in RAX or Logic.

YES!! I too am having stuck notes.
I am my Midex 8 and a Triton/ Kaiwai K5000s as controllers.
I get stuck notes on playback of midi. I have too press stop several times to get them to be quiet, or I push the sustain pedal. Sometimes I have to start the clip then press stop to get it to stop. I think it has to do with sustain somehow.......
