memory leak IS NOT LIVE (+cpu spikes)

Post by pwal » Thu Feb 14, 2008 9:54 am

[edit]quick update: mem leak culprit identified as Acon Digital StudioDenoiser  not live... but spikes remain... [/edit]

hello forum :) another n00b here

7.0.2 is taking +1MB RAM every couple of seconds, even when not playing... not a big project: 2 audio tracks + 4 softsynth tracks loping clips, 1 monitored MIDI in on a softsynth, 1 monitored audio in...

CPU is ~25% when not playing back, ~50% playing back

Windows XP SP3, AMD X2 Laptop, 2G RAM, Alesis Photon X25 (w/ASIO4ALL drivers v2.8 ), padKontrol (w/PK[squared] RC3)

i noticed this while i was trying to identify cause of CPU spikes... not yet identified, but i did notice that live CPU% isn't the same as Task Man shows...

how about an Event Log entry on exceptions? or is there a log file i can check? would make troubleshooting a lot easier...

and while i'm writing this, live was idling (not playing) as i watched the RAM increase, then a sudden drop in RAM usage + CPU now 117%... have to restart live to make it work again...

could these (CPU spikes + RAM increase) be connected?

cheers, hth + tia ;)
