closing Live show warning which results in End Task action!

when I closed a song in Live 4.0.1 (WindowsXPsp2) I recieved this warning message which I've seen during the beta period as well:

this warning dialog keeps coming back when I press the close button, so I need to End Task it!

can't really reproduce it, it just happens from time to time it seems. any clues?

I managed to get the same thing when doing multiple takes on the same track...after about 15 or so takes (my vocal skills need honing:)) Live crashed with that error message. Booted it up again, was able to recover the track, continued doing the same...blam. Crash again. Hasn't happened since, but I haven't really done the exact same thing again.

this is strange. if it happens live and you need to End Task Live... man, you can use a beer or 2 ..

I really hope AB can find the cause of this error. good luck Ableton. Live4 is a killer app with just a little raw edges at the moment!

i get it everytime i'm closing down 4.01 demo, if a VST inst (lounge lizzard for instance) is running.
Also I get it everytime I try to load a program in kontact (without closing down)
Takes ages to quit with task manager

(under SX sp1)

happened to me again today with the same song. must have something to do with the plugins probably... ai: lot's of work to find out! but I will try...

Hello, it happened to me several times too with some free vst plugins!
I´ll try to reproduce.
Seems rather that they are sometimes a little buggy!

I am use no free plugins but rather expensive plugins. Tassman4, Absynth2, Reaktor, FM7 DR008!

I get that Error Message everytime I close Live when I have Lounge Lizard2 as one of the instruments. Only with LL2 & only when I exit Live or that particular song.

I get that error also with Lounge Lizard 2, but not always. I always get that error with Reaktor.

What has worked for me is to reopen Live and recover song, convert LL or Reaktor parts to audio, delete instances of those plugs, save under a different name.

Hello,

It might help to trash the Live "Preferences.cfg" file. You´ll find this here:
Windows (Live 3): (Installation Directory)/Ableton/Preferences
Windows (Live 4): (C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live 4\Preferences
Mac OS 9: /System/Preferences/Ableton
Mac OS X: /Library/Preferences/Ableton
