Post by Fhlouz » Fri Feb 15, 2008 6:42 am

How can i set up my trigger finger in ableton to do things like he does in this video?

when i load up my drum kit and a piano sample and put both track record buttons ON, it plays bot samples at the same time (drum kick and piano), how can i play them individualy like in that movie?(starting only with piano and then drums and piano) how to trigger different pads to different channels?

hope you understand what i mean, please help

Hey Fhlouz,

I think you just have to make sure you assign each pad to a single clip! So pad one is assigned to your drum kick and pad two to the pianosample etc...

Or

How I would do it myself: Load up a Drum Rack and place different samples into the different pads in the drumrack.
Make sure they are NOT set as "loop". So they'll play only 1 time as you trigger them.
Now, assign the pads on your trigger finger to the different clips in the Drum Rack. Make sure the "release" of each clip is set full, so it will play the whole clip, and start triggering away!

Drum racks rule!!!

;-)

I hope this helps!

What slicer you all use to separate a sample into parts in trigger finger?

Live 7

Dude, If you have Live 7 you can just rightclick on a sample loaded as a clip, and slice it up... I'd like using the warp markers, since you can make very precise slices! Works like a charm...
