Export MIDI Clip question/possible bug

I recorded a clip in MIDI, and then I split the clip into several sections. I want to export only a single section, but Export MIDI Clip insists on exporting the entire recorded clip. Since each section is technically a Clip, it seems to me that this is a Live bug. Is there a clean workaround? (BTW, this is Live 6)

well, I guess the workaround is pretty easy - record the segment into a new midi clip using track-to-track recording, but it still seems like a terminology bug or at least inconsistent UI feature - you can render a selected area to disk, why can't you export a selected area to midi file?
