Ableton 7.0.2 trouble

Post by Dandy Dust » Mon Feb 18, 2008 7:21 pm

Unfortunately Abelton Live 7.0.2 does not work.

I have investested (loads of money) on the boxed "suite" version and a

brand new PC just for IT, but it does not work (7.0.2).

Instead I receive a message:

"LIVE MESSAGE

A serious program error has occured. Live will shut down after this message

box is closed"

That it! :x

I habe wasted days and days, it does not work.

Everything else works fine on the system.

I don´t know if I succested a friend to buy the software at this stadium.

Havent heart of the support yet, as well.

I am fed up!

I have received automatic responce that they have received my email.

Ufortunately I havent heart of them since...

If they need details I will give them. As I dont know which details they

need I wait for a responce.

Of course I am fed up, I want to spend my time on music (when I have some besides a job and a family).

I waste my money AND time and now I want a working copy!

WOW, how demanding and spoiled am I)

Here's his problem. It sounds to me like the copy protection bit him when he rolled back the date on an expired beta;

And he would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids and your dog, too.

Version 7.0 and 7.0.1 work fine.

I first got the message when betatesting 7.0.2b5 or so.

I have reinstalled, redownloaded the 7.0.2 version several times,

I habe reinstalled from scratch (not formatted the pc though)

Live 6 PLUS Ableton Suite 7 as addon and so on and so on...

(Unfortunately I set my system date back when using 7.0.2b5 because

my internet connection was down and the thing was expired. So I

tried to set back my internal system date for two days. But nobody

also says that that is or was the cause why 7.0.2 does not work.

I use windows XP with all updates...

My PC is brandnew and seems to work fine.

I know that the hardway is allways a possibility, but I cannot see any

other malefunction.

I have not tried to run the programm with all usb-connections plugged

out, I would do so if the Ableton support asked me to, but they dont.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE ABLETON FORUM?

I dont know, but I know that

It is one thing to blame the Software, and it is entirely different to realize it is your fault..

I bought it with a new version of XP. (because everybody and every support
and every magazine says VISTA does not get allong with soo many drivers
of all kind of Hardware)

Honesty?

Also a new PC could be the reason why something does not work...

But it does not look like there was a major hardwareprob and so on...

 , Dandy
