Thank You, guys!
That´s what i also think.
I´m not a stupid pc-user and I usually know how to install,
cope with troubel and so on...
I understand that every pc is differnet and so on and so on.
But telling me it is my fault is also a joke.
And if I dont have a right for free speech on a forum, then what.
I am NOT part of a ableton family or anything like that!!!
Make me one, Abletons!

you post that older versions work, yet you insist on getting 7.02 to install when it won't, sounds like stupidity to me.Dandy Dust wrote:But telling me it is my fault is also a joke.
there is no such thing as bug free software, it's a shitty reality. there will always be bugs, there will always be people who have more problems than others. it sucks. even then your computer can change over time, so a working system is a moving target. when they make bigger hardware, they'll write bigger software to glut it up.

same shit, just applied to consumerism.
mate I am sorry you have problems with reality. but you are taking everything I say out of context, which, sadly, is very common with web-boards...

but..
don't you see the pattern with ableton ? ... they're coding live 8 (vocoders and such, I'll eat my own shit if we get that in a live7 update) while they drag their heels with live 7.
I don't mind bugs, I just want them to focus all their energy on stabilising what I just paid for, and then get to coding live8. Their business model sucks like this.
bugs can take as long as 10 months to fix, by the time its fixed (if its fixed) low-and-behold a new version is out. wtf ? ....assholes could have fixed said bug in 3 months maybe if they're coders were focused on bug fixing. sheeeeet.
by the way, I use decent selection of legit software from biggish developers right down to one-man operations, so.....I have a good idea on common standards and accepted practises. I don't believe ableton's business model is common...
for what it's worth I didn't pay for my live7 license, I got it for free because they still haven't fixed a certain bug in live 6. shame it caused more problems than it fixed

no no, I do understand what you're saying. The reason I don't get it is because it's nonce-sense.j2j wrote:b0unce wrote:again, not understanding your logic.

non-sense but you have got a free live 7 license...
whatever.. I have software,,,, very expensive software, from one man shops that is very buggy. and I have the same Live as everybody else and for me...
ITS NOT THAT BUGGY. or, even buggy at all. On my machine, LIve 7.0.2 is a stable rock. Live 7.0.1 had 1 bug for me, that was crashing.
Live 6... * whatever the last version was... Had less stability than live 7.0.2
so, it really is different for everybody depending on your set up.
Meanwhile, the software works great, IMHO, compared to other software from other companies....
I think, maybe only Reason and Pro Tools are more stable. but those two softwares have very closed arch's....

if you read my posts at all you'd know that installing live 7 has [a] wasted unlocks due to some malfunction in installing locked me out of my PACE protected software, and allllllllllllllllllllot of my sets.j2j wrote:non-sense but you have got a free live 7 license...
even if it didn't waste unlocks & screw my system, it would no doubt be buggy. becoming an early adopter for live7 as a means of addressing a bug in live6 is no way of doing things if stability is more important to you than feature set. for painfully obvious reasons.
it's good that you're install of live7 is hassle free, enjoy it.

I don't know how to judge Ableton about dragging their heels, I don't know if we can make that call. what's the metric for a release being ready for release? NO bugs? that will never happen. I don't know what they're working on, I don't know how hard they're working. really, this is the ONLY software company that I've had an inside peek at as a customer.b0unce wrote:@tone deft

L7 was getting annoying, I was about to go back to L6. what of the money I spent? well shit, I would've lost money, but so what? money can't make you happy but it can make you unhappy, I'd just move on.
I take a very annoying approach, I make it my own responsibility to make shit work. if L7.0 kept being annoying, I would say fuck it and go back to L6. what about the money I spent on L7?? well shit, I bought buggy software, damnit, lost some money on that venture, I'd move on.
seems you prefer to take Ableton head on and they've replied openly that you've made bugs go away. I can't say we'd agree on the same approach, different strokes.
meanwhile you've got idiots like the OP who insist on installing a newer version that won't work but he's too stupid to apply a little common sense and fix the problem by going back to an older L7. this amazes me. how can rants from the general population (not you b0unce) about buggy software be taken seriously when you have idiots like the OP?? I can't think he's anything more than a troll, it doesn't add up, do they make them this stupid anymore?
goddamn I'm cranky today.

well, I'm not as emotionally charged on this issue as I used to be...I'm numb to it these days. Besides, I have other musical outlets thankfully, and more non-music obligations at the moment.
it might interest y'all to know that the botched live7 install messed things up for live6 too, so when I say I'm locked out of alllllot of sets...it's not like I can roll back to live6 and use them there.
The solution is a fresh OSX install, been puttin it off.

the copy protect in live 7.0.1 was buggy. I agree, I had some probs too.
Seems to be fixed in 7.0.2
meanwhile... I have a ton of pace ilok stuff as well. and it all seems to be fine. so yep, you probably need a fresh os x...
although, you might just need to use disk utility and verify your file structure...
so much shit is going on behind the scenes of os x, and when it gets fucked, it is harder to fix than windows...
cheers

I have deleted my preferences before (I hope!)
I have no vst plugins installed yet.
Another reason why I want the latest version RUNNING:
Because my vsts an template have to be build in and so on.
Somebody who says, 7.0.1 runs, be happy must be joking;
How can I start working with the OLD BUGGY software.
If I refer to this forum for instance, having a question and telling
that I use 7.0.1 they will send me a big SMILE or so...
I dont have any particular sympathies for Ableton, as littel as
I habe for Microsoft or the producer of my toilet paper.
If I buy word and it is buggy I tell them my opínion about the
product.
Is this some kind of Ableton Live fetish **** - Club here?
If I buy a car that does not drive (or even start) i kick it and
say that it is a shit car.
If somebody tells me than, how can You say so, its a Rolls Royce,
and WE ALL LOVE our Royces, and the DO WORK over here, NICE for You!
My (EXPENSIVE) Ableton Live 7.0.2 does not function at all!
I receive no responce (exept robotic answer) from the producer of
this product and I wasted MANY HOURS!
