playback disabled in arrangement mode unless I record
playback disabled in arrangement mode unless I record
I've been finding that when I play a clip in session mode, then somehow that grays out (deactivates) everything in arrangement mode when I hit play. The only way I can re-enable the tracks in arrangement mode is to actually record something for any length of time. But this ends up being simply an added annoying step when I feel I should have access to playback functionality as soon as I switch to arrangement mode. Please let me know how to deal with this.
There's a button at the top row that says "Back to arrangement". The part of Live's functionality is that you can't play at the both views at the same time. The tracks are the same that you see in both, so you can use the Session view's mixer and that affects the Arrangement view too, but you can't play from both sources at the same time.
So each time you launch something from the Session view, Arrangement view gets overridden until you hit "Back to arrangement"-button. When you play something from the Session view, you can see this button become red to indicate you have to hit it to hear what happens in Arrangement view.
