Recording audio Mac OSX Pops and clicks skipping?

I can't believe I spent all this money on a Macbook Pro and I now have to record in BootCamp :(

When I record audio through my Firewire Presonous FireBox the audio skips and crackels. In order to get it clear I have to put the buffer all the way to the right at 2048 samples. Then latency is way too long. I have also tried turning the airport off.

Any one using a Mac with the firepod? Any Ideas?
