clip edge drag in arrange view

it used to be that when dragging the left edge of a Clip to the left in the arrange view, the 'new' Clip contained the end of the sound.

Now, the clip moves with the cursor and the 'extra' appears at the right end of the Clip.

This doesn't happen if you drag the edge to the right.

There is probably an easy and intelligible way to explain this, but i don't know what that might be.

it never used to do this. this a deliberate thing? and can you make it stop?
