Cycle through devices in Live via Novation SL?

Post by Tarekith » Wed Feb 20, 2008 4:20 am

Dumb question I'm drawing a blank on. Is it possible to cycle through all the instruments and effects/racks (either per project, or per track) from the SL37's front panel? I'm not using the SL automap software, but Live's native control.

Thanks, not been able to find this in any of the documents or online at either company's website.

Nope no way to do that, sorry. You can select the first device in the chain by hitting record arm twice, but thats about it. All in all im pretty dissapointed with lives automap implementation. Automap 2 is the shizzy shizzynit, you can choose all plugs from the remote sl, and it lets you customize your daw control, but this is not available for live yet, just the plugin control. Check out the beta at the novation site.

Ya Live's native automap doesn't allow this. Hitting record arm twice and then using keys isn't bad though. Also check out the MCE for SL by Namei, you might like that. It does let you chose Live native devices from the SL. However, for grouped devices you can only chose the main rack.
