I trying to use some of the beats from 'glitch' impulse preset but can seem to get at the samples in my Ableton library.
Does anyone know how I can access them?

The simplest way to find the sample a preset uses, is to click the "hotswap" button that appears in the Impulse cell, while the mouse is over it.

Yeah? I ideally I want to get hold of the wav file I spent last night rendering them individually, but just didn't know if there was a quicker way. Sorry if I being a bit stupid, I have only just got Ableton and I'm not generally very good with software!

Joke apart: clicking the hotswap button, you're guided to the Browser, and the wav or aif file that is used is highlighted. See section 22.5.1 of the Live 7 manual, on page 337, for a more detailed explanation about it.
