FM 8 plug-in not working with Live 5.2

The plug-in is recognized but it says 'disabled' in the lower instrument box.
And none of the functions work in the FM 8 window.

Any suggestions welcome.

Are you using Live 5.2.2? Which version of FM8... and are you using the VST or AU?

Also, have you run FM8 in standalone? Any NI plugin should be run as a standalone immediately after the install or an update and before you attempt to use it as a plugin; otherwise chances are the plugin won't initialize.

I use Live 5.2 (as far as I can tell it's the last upgrade for Live 5 - don't see a 5.2.2 here)

I purchased FM8 today (1.0.0) and downloaded the upgrade (1.0.3.003)

I ran it in stand-alone to (re)build the db.
And I'm running it as VST in Live.

All i get is one tone, and my mouse doesn't respond in FM8 window.

Is that clear enough? It also tells me "db is rebuilding in background, you can continue to work..."

Ew,
Are you saying that I should perhaps reinstall b/c I tried to run FM8 as plugin initially?
It works fine in stand alone.

Thx for your help guys.
There is indeed a version 5.2.2 that I overlooked. And it was the answer to my problem.
Rather fortunate. Not quite ready to make the leap to Live 7.
