At the time I wrote this I didn't really understand... and now I DO care, the relative clip envelope combined with the absolute arrangement envelope is quite brilliant. I actually got over not being able to record clip envelopes... so I draw them.

I asked Robert Henke at Amsterdam Dance Event about this and he said something like "of course it should be possible but we need to find a good way to do it."

spent hours last night trying to figure it out, gave up convinced I was an idiot 'cos I couldn't figure it out... thankfully I'm not (or at least not as much as I thought).

Top of my wish list now.
MBP 2.4 & a shit load of Faderfoxes!

hi guys
in fact there's a workaround for automation in session view
just split the automation midi signal(MCE+automap+ fixed midi mapping)
with midiox or equivalent
and then record your automation in a separate track.....

i ll try to post an example soon...
bye

Sounds great. Thanks. My problem would be now having twice as many tracks.

well, this has been requested since many versions ago, and yes.
make it happen.

i dont use arrangement view for anything, except editing samples for beats to drop back into session view.

the fact that we cant do it (atleast not without any ugly hacks and workarounds) is just disrespectful to the people actually performing live, especially loopers who build up stuff as they go along.
