Midi velocity in Drum Rack

Why is the midi velocity not changing in drum rack like it does in impulse? i still can change how dark/light the midi note is which usually denotes velocity, but in drum rack it doesnt effect the velocity while in impulse it does. Any ideas why, and how i can get around this?

You have to change the Vel parameter on your drum rack simplers!
