Macro feedback and folder tracks

Post by spacebag » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:07 pm

Would you please implement the following things?

- Macro controls parameter feedback

When you map a instrument rack macro control to ONE instrument
parameter within the rack and you fiddle the macro control, you get a
parameter change on the instrument. Great feature! But it does not work the
other way round. When you fiddle on an instrument control or recall an
instrument preset, macro controls don't reflect the parameter changes which
leads to parameter jumps. That's even more annoying when using fader
boxes with increment / decrement midi CC endless encoders. I guess it
would take just a few lines of code to fix that, would you please?

- Folder tracks

Imagine a big multitimbral VST instrument (a sampler for instance) with like
20 audio out tracks and 12 MIDI tracks occupying a lot of space in the
session mixer (even if you resize the tracks). But since this is a real big
project you got 4 of those big VSTi plus 20 subgroups and 10 return tracks.
Your session view now displays what feels like a thousand tracks. Wouldn't it
be great to have folder tracks where you can place any number of tracks into
it? If you need to edit that group of tracks open up the folder track, do your
editing and close the folder track. That would keep your session view nice
and organized.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
spacebag
