So, my MacBook Pro is always on the brink of being full w/ all the plug-ins and music software I have on it. Now I want to put Photoshop + plug-ins on there as well as Final Cut Pro. I probably need to upgrade my internal hard drive (currently 120 gigs) to something a lot bigger. Note, I already have everything non-application on my external hard drives, so that's not a solution.
So:
a) If I install one would that void my warranty and AppleCare?
i) would they even know?
ii) or should I have Apple do the upgrade (which would probably cost but maybe keep warranty)
b) what hard drive should I buy?
Thx,
bk
Anyone here install a bigger internal hardrive for their lap

I don't know for the waranty thing but I know that I just installed a seagate 7200 rpm laptop drive in my machine and it runs pretty smooth.
There was a post in here I think regarding the successful installation of a 500 gigs hd in a macbook I think. Use google to search the forum, pretty more efficient search engine than the forum one.

I just put a 320GB in my MBP. Super easy. This is the 2nd hard drive I've put in it. I put a 7200RPM 200GB drive in before, but filled it up, so I just put in a bigger one. The space was more important than the speed.
Just follow the directions at www.ifixit.com.
