quad core desktop all pimped out - $1000
moog voyager rack mount - $2000
30" screen - $1k
chair - $150
waves SSL - ~$1000

then purchase the live 7 bundle and a couple of decent VSTi's for another $2k

you should still have money left over for a macbook to go next to ur killah setup. :)

Pair of ADAM P22A = $2500
RME Multiface II + card = $1100
Pair of Neumann KM184 = $1700
BLUE Kiwi = $1800
Universal Audio 2-610 preamp = $2100

That leaves you with $800. Oops.

Mutual Fund
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

a future retro 777 - 1500 or so

korg ms20 - 900 I think (shrug)

nord modular - 700 ?

um... boss dr-660 just cause I'm weird like that. - 100

I'd sell my monome 128 and get a 256

I guess I'd just keep the rest..

oh yeah a drumstation so I could midi sync my mc-202 to ableton without using tape sync. that and it comes with handy sounds too..

that leaves like 7 grand untouched... I'd invest it.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I don't know what Sterling is, but it sounds like Gold!!!

In that case, go for an Apogee Symphony system. Lay every Pro Tools system to waste and blaze ahead with the best sounding shit there is:

And get all those mics and synths and everything. Life is short mang.

UK Pounds. And sterling is a grade of silver.
The uk pound is probably worth double of the us$ at the moment (little less than double)

Deffo a Mac...latest all singing Mac Pro with as much RAM and CPU grunt as it'll take.

Grace or Avalon mic pres...a MOTU ultralite...a pair of AKG 414s...a pair of Genelec monitors...the Waves plugin suite...Live 7 & Protools with whatever their latest control surface is called...PadKontrol...lots of Auralex foam stuff..SE relexion filter...a Vox AC15...Lowden acoustic/ Fender tele gats...hohner violin bass...EZ Drummer and a bacon sarnie.

The rest could go on weed and wine. Or on a week's session at Abbey Road.

hookers and blow.

+1 to SDMB's shopping list.

just don't go out and get a bunch of stuff that'll take you years to learn, you'll never get around to it all. 1 synth at a time, learn it, master it, find another to complement it.

A Neumann U87 condenser mic for $3K- and a forty dollar pop filter so you don't get spittle all over it.
