Fantastic. Really interesting movie. And once again, we see how the Operator rules them all. It's the one piece of audio software/synth I'll never regret buying!

I almost posted a thread about this - the new synths are nice, but they have in a sense made me appreciate Operator more and realise just how much I get out of it - all this time I thought I wanted a v. analog synth in Live, now that I have it I actually prefer usign Operator. All I actually wanted from 'analog' was the oscillators reall, but even there I am so used to just creating the sound with operator that I'd rather stick with that. Sad to say, if I want that VA sound I'm more likely to load up Pro53 as I already have it.

The song he played at 40 mins was outstanding!

Regarding Forge's post, I have to again reiterate that knowing something really well is always gonna help you make better music and be way more productive then getting all sorts of new toys. I'm willing to bet that Robert is a master at his game because he knows his limited set of tools so bloody well...and I'm referencing his earlier comment in the video. Very cool use of Operator...

Did anyone there ask about machine specs for Robert's laptop? Also, I'm guessing he has a ton of midi track, which allows him to have so many clips and not bog down his machine...Can anyone who was there please confirm?

I'd say that the drum tracks are probably all Operator. That's just a semi-educated guess though.

Any idea of the specs? Is it 2.0 ghz? core 2 duo? how much ram? how fast is the hard drive?

neb, did you watch the video? he jokes that it's just a run of the mill Mac. I didn't pay attention to the specs but 'basically' it's just a vanilla Mac. it's a good story.

TBH I never got the hang of making drums with Operator, I'd try and fail. after watching Robert, it clicked. I know how FM works but I never got anywhere making drums. last night, I was making me some drums!

I'm still giddy over how stoked Robert was about max and controllers for Live. gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme
