1) place a sample in a session slot
2) Increase the sample's bpm value to maximum using *2
3) Set the looping point from 1 - 1.1.2
4) Warp the 1.1.2 marker to be as close to 1 as Live will allow
5) Switch to the Volume envelope
6) Double click on an empty session slot
7) Double click on the Sample you have to view the Volume envelope
Spent a few hours trying to simplify this, and I hope it is helpful.
I've tested this with different settings
a) if you do not warp the loop, this doesn't happen...
b) if you try to warp after the fact it doesn't work
c) if you get yourself into the proper 'state' to crash, as long as you do not leave the sample in envelope view when you switch and come back, you will not crash.
Hope this helps
This was done on a Windows XP system, don't know what other platforms this will work on, so if anybody else can test this, that'd be awesome.
