I helped invent the AirFX! :D
One night my roomate's boyfriend who was an electrical engineering major came over and we had a little jam in the garage. Later we were puffing bowls and talking about how cool it would be to have an effects unit that had an area above it that you could move your hand around in and change the effect. So he graduates, moves to LA, gets a job with Alesis as an engineer, and makes the AirFX! :D

See, they're not always just pipe dreams!

Damn, I love that thing! But I'm still confused why Alesis stoped manufacturing it - do you know why? The next step would be an air fx with midi, the possibilities would never end with that kind of thing..
