I'm back on the net...

Post by Timur » Mon Mar 03, 2008 12:38 am

One month off the net and phone. Not a bad experience. Got lots of things done. 8)

Now the net has got me back, too bad. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for several reported Live issues be solved.

1. No news on DirectMusic Midi support for Windows.
2. No acknowledgement on timing/jitter/modulation issues with Plugin Buffers bigger than 128 samples.
3. No acknowledgement on vast CPU load with dynamic GUI elements on Windows Vista Basic GUI.
4. Hanging/crashing of Live when using MidiYoke (partly well reconstructable).
5. Novation Remote SL faders still cannot hit 0 dB but only 0.02 dB or -0.30 dB (wasn't that reported to be fixed with one of the last prerelease betas?).
6. Strange Memory Managment that reserves all RAM for Live's internal instruments/plugins only without ever setting it free again while stealing RAM from external plugins and other applications. Add increased CPU load to that in STOP mode (even with disabled audio engine) without even playing a single sound, but seemingly just because of Live trying to handle its memory or some other oddity connected to Drum Racks/Simpler.
7.8.9. I forgot, check the posts... :P

Any news on a 7.03456789 coming any time soon?

if one receives a surprise when their back is turned and one likes that surprise one could then become obsessed with it

And the Completely-Random-CrazyPersonLike-Comment Award goes to (as it does most days) our black brutha from the rainy city.

Silverchair cancelled their gig on last years Area 4 festival, but Tool was cool and Juliette a thunderstorm.

Well, I got lots of responses via several mail replies, just no one at Ableton seems to have the guts and either say "Yep, that's a bug and we will try to solve it" or "Since we cannot recreate here let's see if we can help you isolate the source of the problem". The last answer I got was "Development will be dealing with these issues". That was one month ago (but before I found that MidiYoke crashing issue anyway).
