Headphones

Hi,

I'm using some cheapass headphones, but recently I started recording stuff myself, and I can hear the sound on the headphones softly being re-recorded on the new track. So now I'm looking for some new (~under €100) headphones. Anybody has any suggestions?

I'm not really using them for mixing, only for reference when recording. So most important for me, is that they don't "leak" any sound.

Which headphones are you using and are you satisfied with them?!?

Im actually looking for a pair of cans aswell but i'm more after headphones for monitoring so must be comfy and accurate. £100-£200 bracket.

As you are talking of sound bleed, then assuming your talking about mic recordings and sound bleed from your cans to your mic.

If so, then look at the AKG 271 - they are a closed back design which minimises bleed, additionally they have a switch in the headband to mute the cans when they are removed.

They are about £80 or so here in the UK, you could probably find them for around the 100euro mark - try thomann.

Thanks for your replies people. I have to say, those AKG's do get good reviews. Can't find too much info on those Audio Technica's.
I'm gonna check 'm out both soon!

It looks like the AKG K271 has just been updated, which means that you might be able to get a good price on the old ones if you shop around. Right now they're $177.31 at amazon.com (USA).

sony v700dj ... a little uncomfortable after a little while, but they have 50mm dirvers, and are clear, durable, powerful; also, you won't be able to match the frequency response: a remarkable 5 - 30k. nothing else even comes close in a similar price range.

i've made the mistake of mixing with them, tho ...
