free synths for mac

Post by maudeu » Sun Mar 02, 2008 7:48 pm

i've just switched over to mac (i'm very impressed!) and as i'm new to it all i wanted a bit of advice on what decent synths are out there for producing trance leads. on my old PC i'd been using z3ta+, and a couple of decent free ones such as superwave P8 and sytrus, and i was really happy with these as they came with lots of excellent presets which made stuff much easier! i understand expecting decent free synths with good trance lead presets for mac might be asking a lot, but if anyone knows of any then help would be much appreciated! if not free, then cheap as possible cos i spent all my money on the new imac!

cheers all

yo! ORCA is AU / VST and RTAS now...

crystal, remedy, automat, cheese machine, tripple cheese, free alpha.... are all pretty usuable.

Don't forget Crystal. It and Automat (now b25 actually) are the two must haves. There's a couple others like the Tal-101, a pretty good SH-101 VST, and creakbox, a free 303 VST.
