Is it a "pro" update or "elite"? I will only lay my blessed hands on pro stuff from now on, you know I'm in Germany's artist health care now, so I'm officially a pro now.

Anyway, in the realese notes I see no single bugfix for any of the hardcore Midi bugs beside that "first two sent MIDI clock messages could have the same time stamp" and also no mentioning of any of the many bugs that bug me. So why should I be wasting my time with bug stomping new bugs when the old bugs are still in da house? Or can you afford my rates?

Meh. Quitter.

I don't think I've met one like you before. A nerd that needs to come out of the closet.

By the way, RME brings out a new PCI-Express related card. Given the fact that most of their already announced ones are not on the market yet means that it doesn't mean a thing though. Paper launches are far from being exciting and I don't think there is much of a tactile experience to be made with an audio-card. So I will stay at home and just check the website.

The machine I'm envisoning would complie the best of the EMX with the ESX and have a USB host and forgo the inclusion of a smart media slot for storage. It seems like a no brainer...
Amen to that, you and me both!

And that's the problem, I'm not a Nerd, going through halls of shiney stuff doesn't mean a thing to me. I'm mostly turned on by results that come out of gear, not by the gear itself, with very few exceptions. And most of the stuff we are usually talking about here is like cheap toys compared to the real heavy-duty and heavy-dollares professional gear. 300 Euro for a DAW, 1200 Euro for 8 preamps + AD/DA converters, c'mon, that peanuts. But fortunately it is because it enables us to do our thing with the MP3 concious consumer in mind.
If you're not a Nerd then I am Donald Duck.

if Zicarelli and Behles don't put up I'll cover the C74 building, who's got Ableton HQ? we'll chain the doors and keep them locked inside until they end these shenanigans.

Neb set the standard pretty high for music convention photo essays. You might want to review both the style and to make sure there aren't any repeat reports.

In regards to the comparison above, at Winter Namm we had both Namm AND Disneyland blocks away (and a no-show BT gig we went to).

But I've heard Europe has THE music convention to go to that makes Namm look like a church bake sale. Watch out for the guitar hooligans though. I've heard they wreck shop on the electronica factions.

Rumors are that Ableton has a new clothing item specifically designed for their biggest fans. But I don't really get it, how are we supposed to type a post on the forum in this thing? Again, they really didn't think it thru.

heh, no, because you know that you want to go.

Tumor doesn't know if he wants to go, and infact has more reasons in favour of not going than he has in favour of going. LoL ... simple answer is 'Don't go'

These kinds of threads pop up all the time tho.

I thought that someone who has been there before could throw in some good reasons to take the trip to Frankfurt. If not then it's ok, I will save money, time and effort without having a feeling to have missed something.
