Greetings,
I have recorded an audio track from my drum machine of drums and bass.
I then go in and try to isolate the 4 bar progression and create a loop in Live.
I move the start of the clip and the start of he loop to the beginning of the section, which is a bar or two from the beginning of the clip due to a lead in count. I move the end of the loop and end of the clip markers to as close to the end of the section as I can.
I select loop in the sample control and loop up on the top, next to the punch in and punch out.
I play the loop and it goes past the end I have noted, there is silence, then it repeats from the start. As if it has dead space at the end. Also, occasionally, it seems to move back a beat or two, kind of a hiccup. The processor indicator is never over 2.
Any thoughts or pointers to slicing and dicing clips into effective loops.
Help with creating loops correctly
Additional info...
OK... I am getting closer.
I can get the start clip/start loop and end clip/end loop markers properly set and it plays thru the loop beautifully once, but on all subsequent loops it plays a dead spot around measure 3.2 for a beat or two then picks back up and finishes the loop.
Always fine the first pass.
I also notice that in the small graph on the session view, in the track, it seems to be playing past the brightly colored area into a washed out colored area.
I know I sound like a complete idiot, but I would really like to make this work.

Are you in Session view??
Are you setting the loop brackets in the Clip Window???
Sounds to me like... like you are saying one thing but meaning another. I could be wrong.
Anyhow, the best place to try to set up your loops is down at the BOTTOM of the screen in the clip window.
See where you can type in numbers for START and END and POSITION and LENGTH (and hit the LOOP button, too):

also look at the visual brackets above all those fluorsecent green warp markers. Helpful![/img]
