Hi!
How can I configure the novation compact controllers in Live 7?
In the midi-sync drop down menu it does not show up.
Only the remoteSL and the remoteSL classic are supported.
The reason why I ask for that is, because the encoders of the novation compact act like normal potentiometers and the value jumps immidiately instead of moving up or down at rotation speed of the encoders.
any help welcome
thanks

I don't have an SL compact---I've got the regular SL, but from what I see in the Compact Manual, pg. 26, you do in fact set the control surface to "Remote SL" and the input and output drop down should show "Remote SL Compact Port (1, 2, or 3). And, consequently, they should both be set to port 2. I hope that helps.

Thanks, yes I did it like described in the manual.
BUT:
On the remoteSL you have sliders for level, pan and fx. Here you have to pick up values or let values jump, because faders are not endless.
On the compact you have encoders.
Encoders are ENDLESS. It is no need to fetch a value or to let values jump to a (virtual) potentiometer position.
Therefore there has to be another controller driver in live as the normal remoteSL (which has faders)
In the novation tutorial it says:
"..selecting the SL compact in this list here not the SL, ignore that"
http://www.novationmusic.com/products/m ... /?r=promos
(ableton automap)
I think the problem is known, but there are no new drivers for the drop down list available.
In automap mode (for the plugins) there are encoders on the remoteSL too and they behave as expected, but on the remoteSL compact it does not work for volume, pan and fx that (easy) way.
That is the problem.
