I purchased the album and as usual am in love with parts and confused by others. This happens with every autechre album i have bought and generally i end up loving the bits that originally confused me. Anyway i didnt receive the artwork which should have been with it (mp3) can anyone share it?

I love it. much better then all these prog house promos the guys at the distributor gave me today. "and here is an other one playing this very unexpected Cminor chord through a arpegiator, it's gonna be big"

at first I just thought it was ok, but after listening to it through about 4 times front to back I've decided it's actually one of the most pleasant albums they've put out in a long time. it's very spatial and it's nice to actually hear a pad sound now and then again. it also sounds like they've matured their sound a ton especially mix wise and to me it sounds like their creating more natural stuff. doesn't sound like it was made after the last few years working long long hours in the studio it actually sounds to me like they just decided to get down to business and do what they do naturally. though yes I am aware that parts of it were actually from their 2005 tour I'm just saying it sounds like they relaxed a bit and just let the chips fall out.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

hot links coming through...
autechre interview: http://www.barcodezine.com/Autechre%20Interview.htm

burial was totally over exposed in the media in the build up to the release, during the release, and after the release. And It's in every god damn retrospective in almost every mainstream publication I see. It's the lazy journalists way, or its aggressive PR...or a smelly combination..I dunno which, but I was sick of reading about it too. Mostly because the second release is no greater than the first....i like them both. I smell raw sewage when people big up the second release like it's a master stroke.

To the queers who actively don't 'get' Autechre: why don't you try checking out some Autechre-lite (aka Gescom) and shuttin your pie holes.

@ esky, being 44 and having been into electronic music all your life doesn't really mean anything. Electronic music is a very wide genre predating even your birth, so whatthefuckever. Like you said, it's just opinions. Glad you have some, it means you're not dead yet. But you have to admit, your post sounds pretty close minded and boring, y'know, like it was the opinion of somebody old and out of touch. I mean, it basically sounds like "gaaaah, we had real music back in the day, this is just a computer farting!" But yeah, we all like what we like.
@leisuremuffin, you know, if i was out of touch i wouldn't even listen to what autechre is farting right now. But your right, you become a little closer minded when your getting older, but that just means your not going to run behind every shit that is released, you are just getting a lttle more pretentious...

Just bought it on the weekend. I still can't figure out why it's so great, but it is... Wish I'd made it to their gig in Berghain yesterday :(

It's excellent. The second CD is a tad better with its longer songs, but both CDs are really great

Bought the album last weekend, after reading an interview with autechre. There are some nice tracks (Altibzz, Rale, WNSN) on it, but most of the stuff makes me nervous. Anyway, now no one can say i'm out of touch...:-)
Or what, senior leisuremuffin...?

The only thing good about you people jumping in when Autechre or any other challenging music is mentioned here is I can judge almost by the venom in your replies how much I'll probably end up liking it.

Here's some nice respectable artists with big beat songs for you wankers!

Autechre are easy listening, period. You don't like it, fine, I'm sure the club music you make and listen to does nothing for me either.

Venetian Snares rocks too of course.

I had not heard of Xanopticon before, and to be honest, I didn't like it too much. Some cool sounds, just not my cup of tea really.
