I haven't had that error, but as far as i know i can't change the buffer while live is running.
I always change the buffersize and then i start live.

That could be it then,I have tried to change it while ableton is running, the latency in ms doesn't seem to be that low when I had a look at the settings ,but yet it is responding prity good, just a few pops and crackles I thought that might be the sound card............

Any ideas would be welcomed

select channel: output 1/2 and output 3/4
Set sample rate to 48 or 44.1 kHz (i'd use 48) and 24 bit depth
You can try to use 44.1 kHz and 16 bit, might lower the strain on your system, so maybe less pops.

Sorry to be a little OT but have you had this issuse with the Fast Track Pro?

I have just bought a Fast Track Pro for my pc laptop and all is generally fine.

Windows XP SP2
768mb
P4 1.7Ghz
Latest Fast Track Pro Drivers
Soundforge 8.0d

However I get this annoying issue whereby when i launch Soundforge to record with teh Fast Track Pro selected, and put it into Record/Monitoring, I get constant "white noise" at 0db?

I try and relaunch Soundforge, and still the same and even switch between the Fast Track Pro ASIO and Classic Wave driver modes but still the same.

If I reboot, occasionally this will rectify itself and the meters go back to "listening" to the inputs.

Are there any new drivers for the FTP? or do you know of this issue? am running latest drivers for it on XP

@ buckman
Do you only have that problem in Soundforge or in Live as well?

I think i have had a similar problem hooking the FTP to my laptop.
When i put my FTP on the USB on PCMCIA without extra power all the lights, light up like a christmas tree and i can freely record all the noise it sends to my laptop.

So maybe your power supply to the FTP is faulty?

Last driver update for XP was in 2006

Yes, it is buspowered but my problem occured because it didn't get enough juice through USB (coz pcmcia can't provide a lot of power)

well, you could try a standard 9V 500mV adapter.

good luck.
