2 New Songs

ADayTooFar is a dark re-imagining of the song "Too Far for a Day Trip" by my cousin's band Drives Like a Dream http://www.myspace.com/driveslikeadream. The song features guitar and vocal elements from the original.

AeroBreak was written with Justin Seal.

the spacy metallic sound starts to get a little annoying in aerobreak.
outside of that, i dig the sounds. the dissonance in aerobreak works - the plucked strings are also pretty harsh. the arrangement is great, though the intro is almost too ambient. the song works once everything has been introduced.

adaytoofar couldn't hold me - 40 seconds in and nothing was really going on, even for an ambient track.

Thanks for the feedback and the very specific criticism.

I assume the "spacey metallic" sound is the pad. I personally like it, but if it's too much for others I'll go in and see if it can be toned down without losing the sizzle I was trying to inject.

Listening on my DJ headphones I can see that the piano loop might be a bit bright, especially on different monitors or speakers. I'll tweak them down a bit. I think I have a tendency to like thinks a bit brighter than most. I'm always turning up highs on other people's mixes because I think their too low. I guess that's my particular wiring or hearing. I do have a hearing disorder, hell of a thing to have for music!

I look at shortening the beginning of the mix. My fear was being to straight to point on a song I was trying to be more chilled with.

ADayTooFar might just not be ready. Perhaps some more editing.

Nice. I like aero break, it has a lot of "room", I mean the sounds are well placed in the mix.

Cool stuff -- the sounds at the beginning of aDayTooFar remind me of recordings of pulsars and auroral activity. I like the atmosphere in AeroBreak, it brings to mind a clear, starry summer night. After the Sleepy Dark is cool too!
